GO TO SITE

Buitrago del Lozoya is a journey back to the Middle Ages immersed in the peaceful beauty of the Lozoya Valley, a river that flows at the foot of its walled enclosure. The beauty of its landscape goes hand in hand with the quality of its natural products. T-bone steaks and beans with black pudding are delicacies prepared over a slow fire. Buitrago has it all: gastronomy, nature and history that can be explored along the 800 metres of walls that surround its beautiful historic quarter. And a surprise: the Picasso Museum-Eugenio Arias Collection, with more than 60 works that the brilliant artist bequeathed to his hairdresser.

At Christmas time in Buitrago, snowfalls like those of yesteryear fall, which serve as a natural setting for the living nativity scene, declared to be of Regional Tourist Interest, which is performed along the entire length of the town walls.
