A journey through five centuries of art and culture in an exceptional building
The best works: paintings, sculptures, armor, tapestries, decorative arts, floats...
The Gallery of the Royal Collections invites you on an extraordinary journey: a journey through five centuries of art and culture in an exceptional building. A Heritage for all that shows a selection of the best works: paintings, sculptures, armor, tapestries, decorative arts, floats... signed, among others, by masters of the stature of El Greco, Caravaggio, Velázquez, Goya, Bernini or Canopies.
The building—designed by Tuñón and Mansilla—has received ten architecture awards. Its sobriety and apparent simplicity contrasts, complements and emphasizes the magnificent exhibition.
This Gallery is a showcase of the tasks that National Heritage carries out to maintain this valuable cultural heritage but, above all, it is an open window towards all the Royal Sites such as the royal palaces of La Granja, El Pardo and La Almudaina or monasteries such as that of Yuste and Santa Maria de las Huelgas in Burgos, among many others managed by National Heritage.
