Afanador returns to Madrid at the Teatro de la Zarzuela.
This new production by the Spanish National Ballet , with the idea and artistic direction of Marcos Morau , is inspired by the gaze of Colombian photographer Ruven Afanador , who finds a home in Andalusia and flamenco, a world that he fixes and deforms through his camera, creating characters that emerge from the beauty of light and shadows of an entire imaginary inspired by tradition and avant-garde. Morau approaches the world of Ruvén Afanador from his own perspective and language to create another, placing the characters in his photographs in the context of the work and giving them movement in an exercise of respect and fascination, hybridizing both languages in search of a new universe.
